During the 15 years that I was responsible for either the design of; the renovations and/or the new build of hotels for the Fletcher Hotel Group, this project was the most complex project. Because the Amsterdam Fletcher Hotel is round, it was an intriguing challenge for the interior design. The hotel’s roundness has been carried through into the interior by working with mainly round shapes . Palm Interiors stands for warm, harmonious and highly comfortable interiors. That’s what we wanted to create for this hotel as well. We wanted to create a sustainable interior and, therefore, an interior designer who specialises in ‘eco chic’ interior design joined our team. Some highlights of the design are the 1500 kilo bronze grey glass chandelier above the bar; a piano in the shape of a whale donated by the founder of the Fletcher Hotels and a glass cylinder in every room where one showers.
